So you already know that this article isn’t going to be about how easy it is to buy a Swiss watch with the ad revenue from yours YouTube Views. (Even though you have millions of video views, you could probably rent at least one. Wait, don’t do it.)

1. Join the YouTube Affiliate Program
The YouTube Affiliate Program gives regular creators access to special features on the platform.
You don’t have to be an affiliate to make money on YouTube ( Setting up an AdSense account and getting views is enough to deal with it), but being an affiliate makes it a lot easier.
YouTube affiliates have access to multiple revenue streams: not just video ads , but also YouTube Premium subscription fees and features that tap directly into the wallets of your loyal fans, like Super Chat, channel memberships, and the Merchandise Shelf (more on that later).

Step 2: Make your channel successful enough to meet the YouTube Partner Program requirements
To join the program, you need a minimum of 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months.

Each monetization channel has different eligibility requirements. For example:

- YouTube Premium Earnings: If you are a YouTube Premium member and watch your video, you will receive a portion of your subscription fee. (This is automatic, which is nice.)
- Channel memberships: in order to sell channel memberships to your subscribers (i.e. your fans choose to pay you an additional amount), you must you must be at least 18 years old and have more than 30,000 subscribers.
- Merchandise shelf: To sell merchandise from the YouTube Merchandise shelf, you must be at least 18 years old and have at least 10,000 subscribers.
- Super Chat Payments: if you want your fans to have the option to pay to have their messages sent during your live To have chats highlighted in your live chat streams you must be at least 18 years old (and live in a country where the feature is offered).

2. Sell Your Own Merchandise

Alternatively, you’re an entrepreneur first and then a video maker, which means you probably already have a product and are designing your YouTube marketing strategy around it sell.

Step 1: Imagine and design your product
