How to Make a Wood Log Planter for Succulents

Home Outdoor YardAdd Soil

Once all of your succulents are in their desired locations, add more soil around the plants to keep them from wobbling around. Firm the soil around the plant by pressing lightly with your hands and water the succulents when finished. We used cactus soil because it provides succulents with great soil structure and drainage.

It’s also important to note that succulents won’t thrive sitting in wet soil, so don’t overwater your plant. Only water the succulent when the soil is dry and never wet or damp. And if you’re concerned about watering your plant too much, place pebbles or gravel at the bottom of your planter to allow drainage (as mentioned in step 5).
