As a blogger, you’ve probably heard of Google’s AdSense program, which is one of the best contextual advertising programs available.
In this post, I’m going to demonstrate how to Create an AdSense account for your website.

There are many AdSense alternatives out there, but no matter what network you try, you’re likely to find one Adsense is the best.
However, if you have some knowledge of marketing, you should also look into affiliate marketing. My post on Affiliate vs. AdSense gives you my personal insights into both networks.
When I started blogging, “AdSense” was a foreign word to me. When I originally signed up for AdSense, I needed a lot of help from my friends and I still wasn’t sure if I was doing it right.
For beginners who are unfamiliar with AdSense, it is an advertising program for publishers started by Google (see wiki details) that places contextual ads on your blog and gets you paid when someone clicks on those ads.
In this blog post I present I created an Indispensable Guide for Beginners who are unsure how to apply to AdSense.
There are some requirements that you must meet before you can apply to AdSense can apply:
- First, of course, you must have a website.
- You must also be over 18 years old, otherwise you must register under the Apply name of a parent or guardian who gives you permission to do so.

Steps to create an AdSense account:
AdSense has recently changed the account approval process to include the following steps:
- Sign up for AdSense
- Add AdSense ads to your blog
- Wait while your account is verified and either accepted or declined
- Full identity verification (personal, business or both)
- Add payment details to make payments
Although the approval process for a new AdSense account used to be lengthy (weeks), in 2022 it is fast and usually completed within 1-2 weeks. You should be able to start showing ads on your site within 48-72 hours.
It’s also important to ensure that your blog or website adheres to the AdSense policies before applying.

Step-by-step instructions for creating an AdSense account:
First, go to the AdSense sign-up page.
You will see an option to create a new Google account, or you can use your existing Google account.
Note: If you have a custom domain name and are using Google Apps for your domain email address, I suggest You use this to sign up for your AdSense account. Using domain-specific email addresses ([email protected]) increases the chances that your AdSense application will be approved. You can also create a domain specific email address with Zohomail.
Otherwise, you can use your existing Gmail address.

This form is straightforward. All you have to do is enter your website address and select the content language. For the website URL, use your blog address and make sure you add it without the “http://”.
AdSense contact information:
This is the most important part.
I remember making a few mistakes in this part when I went to the first times registered. If you follow this guide, hopefully you won’t make the same mistakes.
The “Payee Name” is very important. Use the same name under which you have a bank account, as AdSense will send you checks or wire transfers under this name.
If you make a mistake here, change the payee name Your account will be difficult inmany countries,including India.
- Here is the list of countries that are not eligible that to change payee name after login.
So make sure your bank account name and payee name are exactly the same.
Next, add your contact information and fill in the other details.
Accept the AdSense policies:
Read the AdSense guidelines and tick all three boxes.
When you are finished, click Submit and the next page will allow you to review your information.
Make sure all details are correct and up to date!
Once everything is set up, there are two more steps you need to take to get paid by AdSense:
- Confirm your identity
- Submit your tax information
- Enter your PIN
After you have completed the personal verification and logged into your AdSense account, you will see the following message (on the AdSense dashboard)
Important : Check if additional tax information is required from you. All YouTube creators and partners are required to submit tax information to ensure all applicable taxes on your payments are correct.
Click Correct Now to begin filling out tax information. Depending on the country you are in, you may want to contact your tax advisor to get this sorted out.

YouTube is required to withhold taxes on earnings from US viewers. These withheld taxes are sent to the United States Internal Revenue Service.
As noted in “My Information,” 24% of ALL your earnings will be withheld if you fail to complete the US tax forms in your AdSense account.
If you fill out US tax forms, the maximum withholding rate is 30% of your earnings from US viewers only.
So it should be worth filling out the US tax forms in your AdSense account.
Filling out US tax information should be relatively easy if you do not need to submit tax treaty information.
You must enter a tax identification number (TIN). This varies from country to country, but here are some examples of TINs in different countries:
- India: Permanent Account Number (PAN).
- Indonesia: Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak (NPWP).
- Japan: Individual Number (nickname “My Number”).
- Russia: The taxpayer’s personal identification number is known as INN.
- United Kingdom: Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR), National Insurance Number (NINO) .
Note that in many countries this is an ID number and not necessarily a tax account number. If you do not know which number to enter, you will need to contact your local tax authority.
Note: Please DO NOT use the “Add Tax Information” link provided under “My Information”. This will open the Google Pay tax form submission page. This may work for some publishers, but my already submitted tax forms don’t show up there (my AdSense payments profile is separate from my main Google Payments profile), so this doesn’t work for all publishers.
Instead:
1. Sign up for AdSense
2. Click Payments in the left menu
3. On the Payment Information page, click Manage Settings
4. On the Settings page you will find the option to add or edit US tax information
This should work for all AdSense accounts.
AdSense Pin:
You will receive an AdSense pin in the mail once you reach the $10 threshold. You will need to add the PIN to your AdSense account.
You will be paid once your AdSense account reaches the $100 threshold.
