How To Create Folders in Gmail: A Step-by-Step Guide

Option 1: Create a new folder in Gmail from the sidebar

  1. Open Gmail on your desktop/computer and log in to your Account.
  2. Locate the list of existing labels on the left side of your screen (the menu starts with Inbox and contains folders like Starred, Sent, and Drafts).
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the and click “More” to expand the full menu.

  2. Hover over the folder to see three dots, then click on those dots.

  1. Open the Gmail app on your mobile device.
  2. Click on the top left of the Screen, click the three lines next to the bar that says “Search in emails”.
  3. In the menu that appears, scroll down to the Labels section and tap “+ Create new.”
