App features

Q: How can supervisors and youth access their rides and ride logs on different devices?

A : RoadReady driving sessions and the driving log are account specific. Caregivers and teens can use the same email address and password associated with this account to access their rides and ride logs on different devices. For example, if Mom and Dad both spend time supervising their teenage driver, they must share account logins in order to add time to a log.

Q: Can logs be from two different accounts merged?

A: While two or more separate ride logs cannot currently be merged in the app, RoadReady offers users the ability to manually enter rides not previously recorded with the app. Manually entered trips are shown in the logbook.

Q: How do I delete a driver from my account?

A: RoadReady allows you to add new drivers to any account so you can keep multiple young people manage drivers. The app doesn’t currently allow you to delete drivers from your account.

Q: I started logging my trip and at the end I noticed that my trip summary was recorded incorrectly. Is the app broken?

A: RoadReady relies on the ability to track your journey based on GPS data and a connection to an internet source. If you are driving in an area with little or no network coverage, the app may not work properly. Also, if you don’t allow the app to use your current location, the app won’t work properly when it’s closed or your phone is locked. We’ve built in some extra features to account for low coverage and a weak connection to GPS data, but RoadRead works best in high coverage areas and if you allow it to access your current location. If you encounter this problem, please contact us and let us know. We’re happy to help and provide you with more information.

The Parental Controlled Driving Program

Q : I noticed RoadReady is a component of the parent’s supervised driving program. What is this program?

A: The Parental Supervised Driving Program is a resource that parents and guardians can use when teaching their teenager to drive. The program includes the RoadReady mobile app, a printed curriculum available from state licensing agencies, a social network on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, and a website: www.theparentssuperviseddrivingprogram.com. The mission of the Parental Controlled Driving program is to provide parents and guardians with the resources needed to ensure their teen is a well-trained, safe driver when they begin driving independently.

Q: Where can I get a copy of the Parental Controlled Driving Program?

A: The Parental Controlled Driving Program is distributed to parents and teens by participating government agencies when teens receive their learner permits. For more information and to download a copy of your state’s guide, please visit www.theparentssuperviseddrivingprogram.com.

Q: My teenager and I use RoadReady to track our supervised driving. What other way can I ensure my teenager learns to drive safely?

A: Parents and guardians play a key role in educating their teenagers to drive. Studies have shown that the more time parents and guardians spend behind the wheel with their teen, the safer the teen is when driving independently. We encourage you to take advantage of the many resources available to you through the Parental Supervised Driving program and spend as much time as possible practicing driving with your teen.
