HOW TO RESTORE FROM ACRONIS BACKUP TO A NEW COMPUTER WITH WINDOWS 11 OR WINDOWS 10

After completing the backup process I saw the backup is just 1 very big (174GB) “.tib” file.

Bạn đang xem: How to restore from acronis backup to a new computer with windows 11 or windows 10

If I want to recover specific files/folders this file what I need to do? Is it possible at all?

***I use the 30 days trial version becuase I just need to backup my laptop once.

After 30 days I”ll be able to use the “.tib” file? or I need to buy the full version?

I emphasize that I have to do only one backup!!!

thank!

You can right click and mount the tib or usually just double click the tib and either way it will open as a virtual disk and you can then copy files fro it just like any other read-only disk. Alternatively, you can do a restore of a file backup and select on the files you want to restore.

Good reference for these things are the userguide:

https://www.vccidata.com.vn.com/support/documentation/index.html

and Grover”s guide (see left side of this web page).

You have various options:

– You can boot from the ATI2013 bootable Rescue Media and choose a files/folders restore, selecting the files and folders you wish to restore.

– If ATI is installed, you could mount the backup and copy files/folders from it to the drive.

– If ATI is installed, you could double-click the backup to open it in Windows Explorer, then copy files/folders from it to the drive.

– Within ATI, right-click on the backup you wish to restore from and select “Recover Files”.

That gives you four methods, so at least one should suit you. 🙂

I have been backing up my files with vccidata.com.vn True Imaging Home 2012. But the PC, which has the vccidata.com.vn software installed, has crashed. I tried opening the files stored on a portable drive on another PC. However, without the vccidata.com.vn program no longer being available, how do I open the .tib files?

You must use ATI to access tib files; the files are a proprietary format. But you have several options:

1) you can install ATI on another PC and attached the backup disk to it.2) you can use your BootCD disk on any PC to which the backup disk is attached.3) If you don”t have a BootCD, you can go to vccidata.com.vn.com, log in, and under your version, download the iso for a booCD and burn the iso to a cd using the burner of your choice.

I appreciate your prompt reply.I did log on at vccidata.com.vn.com but could not find were to download the iso for a bootCD. Also, according to the vccidata.com.vn Web site, my 2012 ATI version is no longer supported.I backed up my files so I could recover them in case the PC crashed. Now it seems that my only other option is to buy and install another copy of ATI. Having to buy back my own files is not cool.

Assuming you registered your serial number (if not, then log in and register it) then go to the updates. You should find your version there and you can download legacy versions and even legacy builds–just follow the screens.

go to acroinis.com and click on My Account tab on upper right; enter ID and password in window that opens; on next window that opens, on the the left side click is a list, click on My Products and Downloads; then click the plus sign for the relevent version; select the tab for Bootable Media.

Also you can download your version of the program from here (Latest Build tab) and you can reinstall it on the same machine or move it to a new machine. so, even if the machine with your installation catches fire, blows up, and disintegrates, you can still get the program and install again.

If you want an older build, read the screaen closely and you”ll see that you can click on that and download older builds too.

When you install, if you haven”t deactivated the program from the original machine, then when you enter the serial number, it will say too many activations and ask if you want have the activation on this machine, or move it or what.

It”s all rather convenient as copy protected stuff goes.

Try the restore from the uiser created TI Rescue/Recovery CD.

The guides in my signature link 3 below may help. Refer item 3 or 2 or 5 inside that link.

Using an older CD to recover a newer file will result in a corrupt file indication so be sure to use the same or newer version CD than which created the original file.

The latest version is backwards compatitble pretty far. Likely your backup is corrupted. If you have more than one backup, try others. If corrupted, they are toast.

There is a remote chance you can mount a corrupted image and copy out some files. worth trying if you are desparate for a file or ten.

как я могу посмотреть или смонтировать образ линуксовой ОС tib на линуксе, под виндовс я же не смогу с образа скопировать нужные мне файлы?

It”s a standard file so copying the entire file it should not be a prob between Win and Linux. To copy files out of the tib you will need an vccidata.com.vn trueimage installation and run vccidata.com.vn…no getting around that since the internal format (endoding) of a tib is proprietary.

How can back up TIB file and compress it? I have a TIB image from C partition , and I want to back up again without any changes but compress it with vccidata.com.vn. I open the TIB image with ATI but no virtual drive added to “Computer” window. When open ATI app window, there are my TIB image and “Recover sidks” and “Recover files” options in “BACKUP” tab. How can back up it without restore TIB and C partition? Is there any solution?

Amir, welcome to these user vccidata.com.vns.

There is no direct method of applying compression to an already created backup image .TIB file. The only method I can suggest would be to restore the whole backup to a spare disk drive (of sufficient capacity) then make a new backup image file using compression.
